Hardy Heron now has the 2.6.24 kernel in sources. The next Alpha will ship with 2.6.24 I believe.

    1) edit the file /etc/apt/sources.list and add the following line:

    deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy main restricted

    2) sudo apt-get update
    3) sudo apt-get install linux-image-2.6.24-1-generic
    4) reboot and select the new kernel from the grub menu

I am using Gutsy so I # comment out the Hardy line in sources.list after like this:

    #deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy main restricted

I need the 2.6.24 kernel for my laptop.

ubuntu is great but interface quality is very poor comparing to xp and vista . I got 64 bit edition , so , I think it should have more graphics quality . other wise it’s performance is ok . We love to have a lovely decent look OS when we turn on our computer , because we are humans we love to be with beautiful stuff first . So ubuntu should consider about their graphics quality first .
