Sonata is a GTK+ music client for the Music Player Daemon (MPD). Version 1.3 of Sonata has been released today. This release add playlist queue support, switch from SOAPpy to newer ZSI library for lyrics fetching, use xmms-like search filter by default when user types, update license to GNU GPLv3, and fix lots of bugs. Sonata requirements:
- PyGTK 2.6.0 or newer
- GTK+ 2.6.0 or newer
- MPD 0.12 or newer (optional)
- gnome-python-extras or PyGTK 2.10.x for system tray support (optional)
- taglib and tagpy for editing metadata (optional)
- ZSI for lyrics support (optional)
- Python 2.5 or python-elementtree for audioscrobbler support (optional)
Installing Sonata
1. Download the latest version of Sonata from here.
2. Open a terminal windows, and execute the following commands:
tar jxvf sonata-1.3.tar.bz2
cd sonata-1.3/
sudo python setup.py install
