AstroMenace is a 3D space shooter game. This game features include: create your own levels by using script, allow mouse, keyboard and joystick control, support Linux and Windows platform. AstroMenace is a very funny game.

Installing AstroMenace in Linux

For Debian and Ubuntu:

  1. Add this line to the end of your /etc/apt/sources.list file:

    ## Viewizard Games repository
    deb http://viewizard.com/linux debian/
  2. Get GPG key:

    wget http://www.viewizard.com/linux/viewizard-gpg.asc
    sudo apt-key add viewizard-gpg.asc
  3. Install AstroMenace:

    sudo aptitude update
    sudo aptitude install astromenace

For other distributions:

After downloading AstroMenace, run the following commands:

tar jxvf amenace12.tar.bz2
cd astromenace/
./game_launcher

Note: AstroMenace requires libSDL (ver 1.2.6+), libopenal (ver 1.0+), libalut (ver 1.0+), libogg (ver 1.1+), libvorbis (ver 1.1+), libvorbisfile (ver 1.1+), libjpeg (ver 6b+).

    Judging from the screenshots, it looks like a good game worth a try.
